Shiprock, New Mexico – Northern Navajo Medical Center will hold several community vaccine events
during October 2022.
• Sunday, October 9 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Shiprock High School.
• Friday, October 14 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sheepsprings Chapter.
• Friday, October 14 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomb Chapter.
• Sunday, October 30 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Shiprock High School.
• Monday, October 31 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Upper Fruitland Chapter.
The new bivalent COVID-19 boosters and flu vaccines will be available. The new vaccines can boost
immunity against regular COVID-19 and include extra protection against the Omicron variants that
are causing most recent infections.
• Everyone ages 12 and older is eligible to receive the bivalent booster if it has been more than
two months since their most recent COVID-19 vaccine or booster dose. For some adults, this
may be their fifth COVID-19 shot.
• For those under age 12 years, regular COVID-19 vaccines will be available for ages 6 months
and older, with boosters for ages 5 to 11 years, according to CDC guidelines.
• This winter’s seasonal flu vaccines will also be available for ages 6 months and older and can
be given on the same day as COVID-19 vaccines.
The CDC now recommends that everyone 6 months and older get vaccinated against COVID-19. Help
get all the protection you can for your family by making sure everyone is up to date with their COVID-
19 shots, boosters, and flu shots.
Northern Navajo Medical Center provides primary COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots on Monday
through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Drive-Up Vaccine Trailer.
