NAVAJO NATION PROCLAMATION
DECLARING JULY 19, 2006, NAVAJO NATION FOOD DISTRIBUTION DAY
WHEREAS:
Pursuant to Navajo Nation Council Resolution No. CJN-62-71, the Navajo Nation Food Distribution Program was established; and
For 35 years, the Navajo Nation Food Distribution Program has provided nutritious foods to eligible participants on and near the Navajo Nation; and
The Navajo Nation Food Distribution Program operates seven (7) food distribution centers serving the Navajo people throughout the Navajo Nation; and
In honor of the Navajo Nation Food Distribution Program‘s 35 years of continuous operations and the dedicated service of the program’s personnel, July 19, 2006, shall be recognized as Navajo Nation Food Distribution Day.
THEREFORE:
I, Joe Shirley, Jr., President of the Navajo Nation, hereby proclaim July 19, 2006, Navajo Nation Food Distribution Day.
