DESCRIPTION:RED MESA CHAPTER Red Mesa\, Navajo Nation\, Utah  \nJOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT  \nDATE POSTED: 08/04/2023\, 8:00am                        CLOSING DATE: 08/17/2023\, 5:00 pm  \nPOSITION TITLE: Heavy Equipment (1 Position)  \nWORKSITE LOCATION: Red Mesa Chapter Community Service Area  \nWORKS DAYS/HOURS: POSITION TYPE: TEMPORARY  \nDAYS: Monday – Friday\, except for Holidays                   HOURS: 8:00 am-5:00 pm             \nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  \nThe applicant will work and receive on-the-job training at a designated worksite within the surrounding community. Worksite(s) may include State\, Federal\, and Navajo Nation programs within the surrounding areas of the Red Mesa Chapter community. \nEquipment Operator will perform daily inspections on Heavy Equipment and provide routine technical services upon repair and maintenance when deem necessary to maintain its operational services. The Heavy Equipment Operator will grade residential dirt roads\, and assist San Juan County\, Utah roads department with dirt road grading when necessary utilizing our Motor Grader. The operator will also utilize backhoe service out in the community upon request. Will maintain records as assigned and document activities in a weekly activity log. Provide customer service to all incoming community members. \nQUALIFICATIONS:  \n\nMust have good communication skills in English/Navajo \nSelf Starter\nMust be a registered voter of the Red Mesa Chapter for at least 6 months or more\nMust be at least 18 years of age or older\nFemale or Male candidate\nMust have CDL Heavy Equipment Operator \n2 years or more of experience in Operating Heavy Equipment Machinery \n\nSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE\, SKILLS\, AND ABILITIES: \n\nKnowledge of Heavy Equipment Machinery\nKnowledge of providing smooth dirt roads in the chapter community area and backhoe service when necessary within the chapter community\nSkill in maintaining open communication and effective working relationship\nAbility to interact with customers\, clients\, and community\nAbility to work well within a teamwork environment\nAbility to accomplish tasks\nAbility to follow directions and conduct themselves in a professional manner\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:  \nMay be required to stand for long periods of time\, and work outdoors for extended periods of time.
